How we source specs

Voltmatch exists because e-bike shopping means opening a dozen tabs and still not being able to line two bikes up. So the rule here is simple: every number comes off a manufacturer spec sheet, and every bike page says which page and what day we read it.

What we do

• Transcribe, don't estimate. If a manufacturer does not publish a spec, the cell shows “—”. We never fill a gap with a number from a similar model.
• Date everything. Specs change mid-model-year without announcement. Each bike page carries the source URL and the retrieval date so you can tell how fresh it is.
• Normalise the units. Watt-hours get computed from volts × amp-hours when a brand only lists V and Ah. Weights quoted "without battery" get the battery added back, and the record says so.
• Show the claim as a claim. Range figures are manufacturer claims, labelled as such, alongside the raw watt-hours you can reason about yourself.

What we don't do

• We don't rank bikes by who pays us. Affiliate links, where present, are disclosed and have no effect on ordering, highlighting or inclusion.
• We don't publish specs we can only find on a retailer listing or a forum post.
• We don't carry a bike whose current specs we can't verify. A stale record is worse than no record, so previous-generation bikes get dropped rather than quietly left up.

Corrections

If a number here disagrees with the manufacturer, the manufacturer is right and we want to know. Every bike page links its source so a mistake is easy to check.
